For this assignment, I had to design three books by a famous author. I chose F. Scott Fitzgerald as I have always enjoyed his literature. For this redesign, I designed more simplistic cover illustrations that still tell a story. Gatsby sits out on his dock looking out hopelessly for the love of his life, a sailboat floats by the moon along the French coastline of Tarmes, and the symbolic stork carries an elderly Benjamin Button to a nursing home instead of a hospital. For the back of my books, I designed a different pattern for each one as I also wanted to pay homage to the Art Deco movement that was going on at the time Fitzgerald was writing some of his books.
